Circles and Restorative Practices
into your space.
Transforming Youth Justice Program- I am honored to be part of a great team and cohort at the Tow institute: I was able apply my passion to present a restorative approach to elementary schools and community engagement.
Matt Hay is a high school educator, who enjoys a productive training session with a focus on creating solutions. He has worked in education for over 17 years as a teacher, soccer coach and mentor in Chicago and Hartford Public schools. Matt has worked on school-wide improvement plans and PBIS programs that strive to clarify student behaviors, improve tardiness and attendance rates, and incorporates the physical space of your institution's student common areas. He is IIRP-certified and trained in Trauma-Responsive approaches and Juvenile Justice Reform. Matt is dedicated to applying circles and relationships to strengthen a classroom and school building.
"He was very dynamic in front of the staff. We have a particular challenge of short-term windows to engage with our campers.
Matt provided hands-on techniques for them to implement on Day 1.

Program Director, Y Camp Hi-Rock
"Matt leads our school's Restorative Justice initiative. He brings energy, purpose and engagement to the trainings. Our school community is stronger because of the work and ideas he brings to the table."
Michael Maziarz,
Principal, Hartford Public Schools
"Matt Hay seems to have the ideas of trauma-informed restorative justice in his DNA. Even better, he knows exactly how to share his work with others in practical and easily digestible ways."
